What are some investing ideas: stocks, CD’s ect?

gumballguy410 asked:

I am compiling a very balanced investment portfolio, what are the types of investment options i should include other than:
stocks, options, CD’s, mutual funds, etfs?
Are there any nontraditional ways to add to a portfolio much like peer to peer lending?
Thanks for your creative ideas!

Build a CD ladder—-a few different CD’s with different interest rates–when one matures roll it over to take advantage of new interest rates. I think its the safer way to go

I think you’re talking about Prosper, and yes, they’re legitimate. Consider adding a couple of bonds or a simple bond fund with no loads to add income, stability, and protection to your portfolio

I have done some peer to peer lending. As is implied by that term, you loan money to other people. I like it because you don’t pay fees to loan the money and the returns aren’t too bad. The minimum amount you can loan is $50.00. I have a couple of loans out there. My average return is about 13%. So far I’ve received payments ontime. Here is the website if you want to take a look at it. My suggestion with this and any investment…Diversify.

If you do decide to join with this link you will get $25.00 after your first loan is funded. E-mail me if you have any questions.
